Stop Ferguson’s £90 million of cuts

Dear friends,
placard_colour
As you may already be aware, Bristol City Council is planning another £90 million round of cuts including up to a 1000 job losses. This has potentially catastrophic implications for council employees and our local public services.

The proposed budget for these cuts will be announced on Monday November 18th. Mayor George Ferguson is speaking on the same day at Bristol University Wills Memorial Building from 6pm-8pm. A protest has been called outside the building at 5:30pm. Please try to attend and publicise amongst your friends, colleagues and networks.

We are calling an emergency open meeting for Wednesday 20th November 7pm at the 5th floor, Hamilton House, Stokes Croft and ask all anti-cuts groups, campaigns, activists and trade unions to attend to discuss details of what the cuts will entail and to plan how we can best organise a united response to them.

As part of the proposals George Ferguson will be doing four public consultations on 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th November.

Attendance to these requires booking so please book now if you can attend:www.bristol.gov.uk/budgetmeetings
